Potenza
Potenza is a microneedle RF device, grouped with other fractional RF units that treat scars, pores and texture from beneath the surface.
How it works
Potenza, made by Jeisys Medical, combines fine needles with radiofrequency. The needles enter the skin to a chosen depth, and radiofrequency energy is released from the tips, heating a small zone of tissue in the dermis. The micro-injuries and heat are intended to stimulate collagen and elastin remodeling. Because the energy is released under the surface, the epidermis is spared more than with fully ablative resurfacing.
Good to know
- The catalog lists it as microneedle radiofrequency.
- It is distributed by Cynosure in some markets.
- Needle depth and energy are adjusted for area and concern, such as acne scars, pores or texture.
- Redness and small marks follow for a few days; results vary by person.
Where Potenza sits among similar devices
Within microneedle RF, Potenza competes with units that differ in needle design, tip options and delivery. For acne scars, pores and fine texture, the common question is how deep the energy goes and how much surface marking results. Depth and settings matter more than the brand name on the device.
Compared with plain microneedling, the added radiofrequency heats tissue and is intended to produce a stronger remodeling signal. Compared with CO2 fractional laser, the surface is typically less damaged, so recovery tends to be shorter, although it can also be less dramatic. A doctor can say which approach suits scar type and skin tone.
Potenza: common questions
What concerns is it used for?
Acne scars, enlarged pores, texture and mild laxity are common ones.
How is it different from microneedling?
It adds radiofrequency heat at the needle tips, rather than relying on needle injury alone.
Is it suitable for darker skin?
Microneedle RF is often discussed for a wide range of skin tones, but a doctor assesses risk of pigment change.
