Liftera
Liftera is a HIFU system with a pen-type applicator, which changes how it reaches small areas compared with larger-cartridge ultrasound units.
How it works
Liftera, made by Asterasys, uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to heat small points beneath the skin. Its pen-type applicator is a slimmer handpiece than the cartridge-style heads used by some other HIFU units. A slimmer tip may make it easier to work around contours, such as near the eyes, nose or chin, although the underlying aim is the same: thermal points at depth that prompt tightening and collagen remodeling over time.
Good to know
- The catalog describes it as HIFU with a pen-type applicator.
- The pen format is the main design contrast with larger cartridge heads and may suit smaller or curved zones.
- It is considered for mild laxity and contour refinement; extensive sagging usually calls for other options.
- Sensation and results vary by person, and temporary redness or tenderness is possible.
Where Liftera sits among similar devices
The pen-type applicator is the feature that sets Liftera apart in a comparison. Where a wide head covers a cheek easily, a slim tip can reach narrower areas with more control. That is a handling difference, not a promise of a different result, so it matters mostly when the concern sits in a small or contoured zone.
As with other focused ultrasound, the energy is placed at depth rather than across the surface, so it complements rather than replaces resurfacing for texture and tone concerns. Compared with radiofrequency, it works in distinct points. A doctor can say whether a laxity concern is better matched to ultrasound, radiofrequency or a combination.
